Dendrobium squalens Lindl., Bot. Reg. 9: t. 732. 1823.
TYPE: Brazil. The present plant was found growing in woods near Rio Janeiro, whence it was sent to England by Mr. John Forbes, a collector in the service of the Horticultural Society in 1822, John Forbes s.n. (holotype, K; illustration of type).
